Contributor Biography

Rebecca Lawrence is Managing Director of F1000. She was responsible for the launch of F1000Research in January 2013, and has subsequently led the initiative behind the recent launch of Wellcome Open Research, a new publishing platform owned by Wellcome but run by F1000. She is a member of the High-Level Advisory Group for the EU’s Open Science Policy Platform, and has co-Chaired a number of working groups focussing on data and peer review, for organisations including the Research Data Alliance (RDA), CASRAI and ORCID. Rebecca is an Advisory Group member for JISC’s Journal Research Data Policy Registry, and for the data policy and standards initiative, Biosharing. She has worked in STM publishing for over 15 years for several publishers including Elsevier Life Sciences where she built and ran the Drug Discovery Group. She originally trained and qualified as a pharmacist, and holds a PhD in Cardiovascular Pharmacology.
