Open Access Week 2015

OAweekNext week (October 19 to 25) is Open Access Week, an annual event where institutes around the world organise events to discuss open access. You can find out about F1000Research at several Open Access Week events, including the following:

  • University of Pittsburgh – Larry Kane is speaking about F1000Research on a panel on October 19, and you can pick up some F1000Research materials from the table with flyers and freebies.
  • Utrecht University – Librarians Bianca Kramer and Jeroen Bosman mention F1000Research in their talk about peer review on October 20.
  • UCSF – You can pick up  F1000Research goodies at the information table on October 20 and at the Let’s Collaborate! event on October 21.
  • Future of Research Symposium (Boston University) – F1000 Outreach Director Kinga Hosszu is on a panel on October 23rd, called “The role of early career researchers in publishing”. You can catch the livestream at 2:05PM EST that day.
  • F1000Research’s Outreach Director Cesar Berrios-Otero will be talking about F1000Research on Thursday 22nd October from 1-3pm UTC-6

If we hear details from other events, we’ll add them to the list.

Check with your local library if your university is organising an Open Access Week event. Not all of them are listed on the website.

If you’d like some information about F1000Research for your own Open Access Week event, we’ve got some digital materials that you can download or view online.

The same week as Open Access Week, you can meet several of our staff at the Neuroscience 2015 conference (exhibit booth 145, October 18-21) to find out all about F1000Research and other F1000 initiatives directly from us. (And pick up one of our very popular F1000Research “cleaning up peer review” hand sanitizers – only available at the SfN meeting!)
