The Sydney Conference on Scholarly Communication Beyond Paywalls took place this week, and you can find lots of tweets under the #sydconf15 hashtag, and a summary video on their YouTube channel.- A new resource on opensource.com: What is open science?
- There are just a few weeks left to apply for the Mozilla Fellowship for Science. Application is open to researchers who want to advance open science and open data within their institutes. Good luck!
- Derek Jacoby writes on the Addgene blog about Makerspace Victoria, in British Columbia. Here, a cross-disciplinary team is working together on various open science projects, such as OpenWorm and the Kittybiome.
- Ben Goldacre talked about open science in an interview at Oxford University this week, and wrote on Buzzfeed about the role of open data in reanalysing deworming studies in developing countries. Both were a platform to mention the AllTrials campaign he is involved with, which also announced this week that investors have asked the pharmaceutical companies they invest in (for a total worth of 3.5 trillion euros) to support transparency in clinical trials. At F1000Research, we also have a channel devoted to the publication of clinical trials.
