The Tyler Prize 2014

SLWe are pleased to congratulate Simon Levin, Section Head for Theoretical Ecology in the Ecology Faculty, on winning the 2014 Tyler Prize for Environmental Achievement.

Simon’s research revealing the complexity of, and relationships between, species and ecosystems and his work on bridging the gap between theoretical ecology and the natural environment have earned him this outstanding accolade.

Since its creation in 1973, the annually awarded Tyler Prize has sought to “recognize those individuals who have contributed in an outstanding manner to the scientific knowledge and public leadership to preserve and enhance the environment of the world”, and with past laureates including Edward O. Wilson and Jane Goodall, Simon is in excellent company.
