Partnering with Kudos to help authors maximize impact

F1000Research has partnered with Kudos, a free service that provides researchers with simple tools to maximize the reach and impact of their published articles. We want to help ensure that research reaches the widest possible audience. The service is suitable for all academics, including those who are not already active on social media and might welcome guidance in this area.

Kudos is designed to help researchers and their institutions and funders maximize and measure the impact of their published articles. Once logged in, it is easy for authors to find their articles, then to write lay summaries and add links to related resources. The platform facilitates sharing via email and social media. Authors can monitor the impact of their activities through comprehensive personalized metrics showing views, click-throughs, downloads, altmetrics and citations.  You can find out more here.

An independent study has shown that explaining and sharing via Kudos correlates to an average of 23% more downloads of the full text on the publisher site.

How to get started with Kudos

Next time you publish an article with F1000Research, you will receive an email inviting you to use Kudos to explain and share your work. Your article record will be waiting for you on the Kudos website, you will just need to click the link in the email to register, or sign in to access it. If you have previously published an article with us, you can simply register now and claim all your F1000Research articles, and then search for and claim your other publications. If you have any questions about this partnership, please contact Ros Dignon.

For complete information on how to get the most out of your publications using Kudos, please read the Kudos User Guide.
