Content from the former Open Science Stack Exchange has been moved to two locations where they might see more interaction. Old entries are now part of the Academia Stack Exchange (such as this question) as well as a new platform launched by Christian Pietsch.
- Stephen Curry shares his thoughts on peer review and preprints on Occam’s Corner (on The Guardian site). He writes: “Peer review is a complex task performed by busy people. It should come as no surprise that it is an imperfect process but, because peer-review reports are generally not published, its limitations are largely invisible to the public.”
- A report on the state of open science in Poland is reviewed on the OpenAIRE blog. You can read the summary there, and follow the link to the full report.
- “What is holding back the transition to open access if it does not cost more?” asks Jan Velterop on the SciELO blog.
- Finally, The Winnower, in collaboration with Advancing Research Communication & Scholarship, is holding an essay competition for researchers. Share how being open has affected your scientific career, for a chance to win $1000!
