Online treasure hunt and offline meet-up

We have some fun things planned for August!

UCL pub night

First of all, if you’re based at University College London, we’re hosting a pub night just for you on August 19. See the Naturally Selected blog for more information, and make sure to let us know on Eventbrite if you’re coming. There’ll be free drinks and nibbles!

Twitter treasure hunt

For all of our Twitter followers, we’re hosting a virtual treasure hunt all throughout next week. You can win T-shirts, stickers or magnets by being the first to find the correct item(s) on the F1000Research site.

Follow us on Twitter to make sure you catch the clues in time, and have a look at the following tips and rules:

  • Tweets about the treasure hunt will be tagged with #F1000ResearchTH
  • We’ll start with the first clue on August 3rd.
  • Clues will be tweeted throughout the rest of that week, at various times.
  • A new clue will not appear until the previous one has been solved!
  • Some clues will have only one correct answer, but many will have multiple correct answers.
  • Example clues: “Find an article with eight figures” or  “Find a poster by an author called Alice or Bob”. (These are not real clues. You won’t win anything for answering these!)
  • To win one of the prizes, you have to be the first to reply to the clue with a correct answer, including the link where you found it on F1000Research.
  • Each clue will be linked to a specific prize (e.g. a T-shirt size XL, a mini-pack of five stickers).

To prepare yourself for the treasure hunt, make sure you know how to explore the site using the “subjects” and “channels” tabs or the search bar at the top of the screen (not the blog search, but the one above it). No matter which of these you use, the results will be split into tabs for articles, posters and slides.

All further news and notifications about the treasure hunt will appear only on Twitter, so make sure to follow us!

Here are some of the “treasures” you can win. Good luck!
