  • Openscience.svgGreece has lost access to a large amount of academic journals, now that a main academic portal has closed due to lack of funding. This is the kind of thing that open science can prevent!
  • Meanwhile, elsewhere in Europe, Dutch academics are standing up to Elsevier and are planning a boycott. The national association of universities has asked Dutch academic editors and editors-in-chief of Elsevier journals to step down if Elsevier does not comply with the country’s open access policy.
  • Mike Taylor introduces the One Repo project, which is aimed at creating one single place that aggregates content from all open repositories, regardless of subdiscipline or funder. At the moment everything is scattered across a wide range of repositories, and it isn’t always clear where to look for something.
  • Cat Bowskill wonders if open science can help increase the public’s trust in scientists. What are your thoughts?
