Did you know that we have a network of PhD students, postdocs, and others who help us reach out to their colleagues about F1000?
The F1000 Specialists programme has been running since 2013, but we’re about to introduce a few changes.
Starting next week, F1000 Specialists will receive a monthly newsletter with news about F1000, featured F1000 Specialists, and a monthly activity. These activities are different each month, and are aimed at getting others to interact with F1000 products. For example, this month we’ll be asking our Specialists to introduce others at their university to F1000Workspace.
In the next few months, we’ll also update the F1000 Specialists website, which is long due an overhaul.
Finally, we’re running a pilot project at a few institutes, where we have an “F1000 Specialist Contact”. This is an F1000 Specialist who is available to answer questions from their colleagues about F1000, and who is in regular contact with F1000. We’re starting the pilot with the following eight people, and will be adding a few more over the next months. If one of them is at your university and you’d like to ask them about F1000, look them up in your internal email system or contact community@f1000.com and we’ll put you in touch. (We didn’t want to post their email addresses on the blog!) They’re also available to give talks at your institute if you would like to know more about F1000.
Congratulations to the first F1000 Specialist Contacts:
- Tamica Collins – Columbia University
- Vinodh Ilangovan – Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry, Goettingen
- Jerome Korzelius – Utrecht University
- Harris Lazaris – New York University
- Fiona Russell – King’s College London
- Shang Su – Tsinghua University
- Shari Wiseman – Tufts University
- Huaxiang Zhao – Peking University
Aside from these eight F1000 Specialist Contacts, we have over four hundred regular F1000 Specialists. If you would like to join us, please register, and someone will be in touch. If you register before June 15, you’ll receive our first newsletter!
