After a particularly cold and brutal winter, this past 26th March, F1000 invited local life scientists and clinicians to Cambridge’s (MA) FIRE + ICE for an evening of networking and talking publishing and science
We kicked off the event with a short presentation on the new F1000 Workspace, followed by a second presentation on F1000Research’s innovative approach to publishing. After a few Ohhhs! and Ahhhhs!, it quickly dawned on us that there is a much needed push for innovation, in terms of both all-inclusive writing tools and speedy publishing – F1000 is happy to lead the way!
Kinga Hosszu, Outreach Director, talking about what’s new at F1000.
The F1000 team met with ~60 of the best and brightest of Boston’s thriving research institutes, including: Harvard University, Northeastern University, Tufts University, UMass, MIT, Boston University and Boston College.
F1000 Specialists, Nihal Okan and Srinivas Saladi, helped make sure that the meetup went without a hitch.
We also used the opportunity to introduce two of our Boston area “superstar” Specialists – Srinivas Saladi and Nihal Okan (his second turn helping us out with our Boston meetups!) – who were happy to field questions from those in attendance (and get some camera time with our raffle winners!).
F1000 Specialists presenting first place raffle winner, Lior Mayo.
We had a lot of fun! Hope to see you again soon!
Thanks to all who came out to see us, and for making this our most attended meetup yet! And for those of you who could not make it out, make sure to follow us on LinkedIn and reach out to both Kinga Hosszu and Cesar A. Berrios-Otero.
Stay tuned for future F1000 events near you!
