Are you happy with the commercial antibodies you’re using? If you are, you can now nominate your favourite antibody company in the “Researcher’s Choice” category of the first annual CiteAb Antibody Awards.
CiteAb is partnering with F1000Research to launch the awards, which aim to celebrate the very best suppliers, reagents and individuals in the research antibody sector, recognising the efforts that are made to progress science.
CiteAb is an antibody search engine which allows scientific researchers to search for antibodies to use in their experiments. The site ranks search results by the number of citations an antibody has received in academic papers, which allows researchers to find those that have been proven to work for the applications they’re interested in.
The CiteAb Antibody awards aim to celebrate the best suppliers, reagents and individuals in the research antibody sector. Three of the eight categories are now open for nomination, including the “Researcher’s Choice” award, so make sure you have your say by nominating.
The award categories are:
- CiteAb Antibody Company of the Year: The most reliable antibody company of 2014 based on CiteAb data is recognised by this prestigious award.
- Researcher’s Choice: For the antibody supplier the researchers who use CiteAb say they have been most impressed by in 2014. (Nominated)
- Employee of the Year: Nominated by antibody companies, this is for the employee who has made the biggest contribution to their company or the sector in 2014. (Nominated)
- Most Impressive Startup: This award recognises the young antibody company that has most impressed the rest of the sector in its first three years. (Nominated)
- The Most Cited Antibody in 2014: For the individual antibody that has been cited in peer reviewed academic literature the highest number of times during 2014.
- The Most Cited Antibody Company in 2014: For the antibody supplier with the most citations over its whole portfolio achieved in 2014.
- Small company of the Year: This award recognises the small company (maximum 1000 antibodies in its portfolio) with the most citations per antibody.
- Company with the Best Pipeline: This award is for the company with the highest number of antibodies which are the only available one to a target.
You can submit nominations until midnight (GMT) on Monday 12 January, and winners will be announced on Monday 26 January.
F1000Research is supporting these awards as they tie in nicely with our recently launched Antibody Validation article collection, where researchers and companies can publish antibody validation studies. Submission to this collection is free until March 2015, so after you’ve nominated your favourite company for a CiteAb award, you still have time to write up your antibody validations and submit them to the collection!
We will announce the CiteAb Antibody Award winners on this blog on or after January 26.
