We are delighted, once again, to be able to announce the winners of our annual ‘Faculty Member of the Year’ and ‘Associate Faculty Member Travel Grant’ awards. In addition, we’re thrilled to unveil a completely new award – Outstanding Faculty Member of 2013.
These awards recognize the hard work of our Faculty Members and Associate Faculty Members, of whom there are over 10,000. In 2013, we received a whopping 16,654 submissions – the highest yearly total to date – contributing to over 152,000 recommendations of 117,000+ articles. This would not have been possible without the dedication of our Faculty, who provide insightful recommendations of articles that impact their research. We applaud your efforts.
‘Faculty Member of the Year’ awards 2013
Each year, we award ‘Faculty Member of the Year’ to one Faculty Member from each of our 32 Faculties in recognition of their hard work and contributions to their Faculty. The award is now in its third year, with each winner receiving an F1000Prime Finches award plaque and a red F1000Prime notebook.
The full list of 32 award winners are available here. Congratulations to all of you!

‘Associate Faculty Member Travel Grant’ awards 2013
Also in its third year is the F1000Prime ‘Associate Faculty Member Travel Grant’ award. This is our way of showing our appreciation for the invaluable contributions of our Associate Faculty Members. For every article recommendation published in F1000Prime during the calendar year, we add $1 to the total available fund. Associate Faculty Members who have more than six article recommendations published that year are eligible for the award, and the winners are selected by Publisher Kathleen Wets, based on the most noteworthy recommendations. Each winner receives $250 towards attending a scientific conference of their choice.
We awarded a total of 38 grants to Associate Faculty Members across the Faculty in honor of their hard work in 2013. The full list of winners is available here, along with further information about the scheme.
