We’re thrilled to be able to congratulate Trevor Robbins, Section Head for Behavioral Neuroscience at F1000Prime, on being awarded the prestigious ‘Brain Prize’.
The Brain Prize is awarded by the Grete Lundbeck European Brain Research Foundation in Copenhagen to one or more scientists who have distinguished themselves by making an outstanding contribution to European neuroscience. Now in its fourth year, the €1 million Brain Prize is the largest of its kind awarded for brain research.
Trevor and his co-recipients Stanislas Dehaene and Giacomo Rizzolatti were awarded the 2014 prize for “their pioneering research on higher brain mechanisms underpinning such complex human functions as literacy, numeracy, motivated behaviour and social cognition, and for their efforts to understand cognitive and behavioural disorders”.
Professor Colin Blakemore, chairman of the Grete Lundbeck Foundation’s selection committee, said that “These three scientists are internationally recognised for the scale and outstanding quality of their work in the difficult field of human cognition and behaviour. They each have made unique and lasting contributions that have motivated the interests and efforts of many other researchers around the world.”
A video of the announcement is on the Grete Lundbeck European Brain Research Foundation website, along with a full press release and more information on the award.
Congratulations to all the recipients!
