F1000Prime on demand – recorded webinars posted

For anyone who hasn’t yet been able to attend one of our online demonstrations of F1000Prime – or who prefers to watch on demand – we’ve posted a three-part recording of an F1000Prime webinar.

The three videos should include enough information for new users to get started with using F1000Prime to follow their research interests and find important papers, and to use F1000Journal Clubs to organize and share their journal club meetings.

A whole webinar, which happens twice a week, usually lasts about 45 minutes with time for questions. For ease of finding out more about specific features of F1000Prime, this webinar has been divided into three parts, each about 13 minutes long, covering the following:

Part 1 – Getting started with F1000Prime
An overview of F1000Prime and the Faculty, and a demonstration of how to create your personalized homepage on F1000Prime. The key features of article recommendations are also described.

Part 2 – SmartSearch, advanced search
Using the more advanced features of F1000Prime to find specific articles and integrate F1000Prime with your research workflow. Included in this demonstration are how to create and manage a SmartSearch, advanced searches, manage your preferences with MyF1000, and enable F1000 LinkOut for PubMed.

Part 3 – F1000Journal Clubs
Getting started with F1000Journal Clubs to create, organize, manage, and share the conclusions of, your journal clubs.

These videos have been recorded “live” using webinar software so audiovisual quality may vary in places. We’re aiming to post new recordings periodically when significant new features of F1000Prime are launched. And if you’d like to arrange a webinar specifically for your organization or journal club please contact us.

On the F1000 YouTube channel there are some shorter clips with tips on setting up specific features, including the personalized homepage and SmartSearch.
