Joining the 100 club – welcome to the one-hundredth F1000 Specialist

On 13th June we commissioned our F1000 Specialists programme aimed at junior researchers who have a passion for scholarly communication. Today we celebrate our one-hundredth confirmed F1000 Specialist – congratulations to Vivek Misra. Vivek is a research fellow in the Department of Neurology, Voluntary Health Services Medical Centre, India and is a keen blogger.

We have been seeing a steady surge in applications over the summer and it’s great to see that with the academic year well and truly underway, interest from researchers across the globe has not diminished.  Our one-hundred F1000 Specialists are now active, local representatives for F1000, giving talks at their institutions, national and international conferences, to spread the news on F1000 and introduce our unique features to their audience.

It seems fitting that our one-hundredth confirmed F1000 Specialist is welcomed only hours after the first F1000 meet-up which saw specialists, users and future users of our services coming together for a night of talking research, funding, and open access publishing – pictures coming soon.

If you would like to become an F1000 Specialist or would like more information about the programme, please visit our website or contact us – here’s to the next hundred F1000 Specialists!
