The response to our recently-launched community outreach project has been excellent and today we are publicly welcoming the first F1000 Specialists. This first group of F1000 Specialists are located in 14 countries, across several continents. The complete list, at the time of writing, is below.
These F1000 Specialists include some of our existing Faculty Members and Associate Faculty Members, along with researchers, students and clinicians from the wider scientific community.
Over the summer – here in the northern hemisphere, at least – Eva Amsen and I will be working with the F1000 Specialists to provide them with the tools and, if needed, any training to enable them to carry out their activities. F1000 Specialists will be doing various activities, which are partly determined by each individual. Some Specialists have told us they will be organizing local presentations or demonstrations; others will share information on social media or raise awareness of F1000 with posters and flyers; others are keen to write – for our blogs or their own. Some will focus on supporting other users at their institute, and others want to provide feedback on website features and functionality. And, as experienced users of one or more F1000 services, all Specialists will be aiming to answer questions from their colleagues and peers locally about using F1000’s services. So if you see a person or place you recognize, feel free to connect with them.
The number of F1000 Specialists is growing almost daily. We’ll post updates about new members and their activities regularly. If you are interested in being part of publishing innovation and joining the F1000 Specialists, please apply online or email us if you have any questions.
And welcome, in no particular order, to:

quite an impressive list of members. keep it up!
A little update: We’re waiting for T-shirts to arrive to send to our initial group of Specialists. We’ve also had a massive influx of new applications this week, which may take a while to process. Meanwhile, some of our specialists have started hosting talks and emailing colleagues and friends.
