It’s been a busy couple of months over here at the desks of F1000 Posters, Faculty of 1000’s online poster repository. There have been hours of hard work, a lot of determination and copious volumes of tea consumed, but I can announce that F1000 Posters—which has grown rapidly since its launch in June 2010—now includes posters from over 100 national and international conferences.
Once a poster is live on the F1000 Posters site, our Faculty Members have the opportunity to evaluate those they think are particularly exciting and rate them with an appropriate F1000 article factor (FFa). This week we were particularly happy to see a poster sitting proudly amongst an array of article evaluations on the list of Top 10 Neuroscience Hidden Jewels. Hidden Jewels are publications that have been identified as especially important by a Faculty Member, yet not published in one of the more high profile or general journals. The poster, HDAC3 is a critical negative regulator of long-term memory formation, that won this acclaimed position was recently presented at the Society for Neuroscience 2010 meeting. Everyone in the F1000 office put a lot of effort into preparing for this (I’m not so sure about the blood but I’m almost certain there was sweat and tears shed somewhere), so to have a poster highlighted from the conference is really the (hidden) jewel in the crown!
Right, it’s my turn, who’s for another cup of tea?
